Monique comes from a wealthy family. She wants to raise a child on her own, after holding the newborn daughter of her best friend. After weighing the pros and cons with her regular psychologist, she eventually opts for adoption. A first internet contact brings Monique in Mumbai India, where she visits an adoption centre. Here she meets Dyani, a young Indian worker, and Izdihar, a five-year-old girl with mesmerizing emerald eyes. Monique decides to adopt Izdihar, but complications occur. A thrilling quest follows, with a surprising conclusion. Mumbai spirit is the spirit and life force that drives the inhabitants: In everyday life they seem rather harsh and indifferent, but when the need is high people help each other.
